My plans are not going well. The run & coop will be ready in March but point of lay Wyandottes dont seem to be available then,

I can get other birds easy. So do i get the birds i want & miss out on eggs for most of the years or buy normal hens & start collecting eggs end of April !

Still time something may pop up.

That means they are young birds at the right age to start laying eggs....

What stops you from getting them ?

$$$$$$ and you would have to go to Germany to get them...

Point of lay means pullets that are not yet laying eggs, but are almost ready to.

Reg wants SLW and GLW but does not really want to start with chicks, he prefers to get older pullets that will soon lay eggs.

I would prefer pullets too, but chicks or eggs are much more readily available, buy some chicks from Pauly Poultry in Fla. and start with some of the better GL Wyandottes available. Get the chicks from them and you are ahead of those with inferior pullets.
