what do you get if you breed a Golden laced to a silver laced??? Im trying to decide which color I should get. My sis likes the silver laced but I like the golden laced so I figured some of each but I want to breed them and cant seperate them.

If you cross SL/GL you will get roos that look like a mixture of the two and the females will always be the color of the sire.....
I would agree as well, pick one or the other......

If they are fully feathered, you'd be surprised what they can take already! Especially in an area that is draft-free with plenty to eat.

Maybe its time to think about getting them out there..lol The basement stays around 50 degrees thou, you dont think it would be to much? The coop is in a barn stall thats completly inclosed in.

Here is our barn, it needs some repairs hopefully that will get done this summer

Especially if you put some plastic over the bars or something, I would say they should be fine. Exactly how old are they? And are they fully feathered? I would say if they are 7-9 weeks or more, you're probably good. But you're going to have to break waters and carry buckets

By now, I'm guessing your basement wants a break!! Brooding chicks stink!

If you want to show, this could be problematic. You'd probably only be able to show the hens. The males that come out Golden might be showable, the silvers won't be unless you work with them a few generations.

Here's another option

Kind of a joke, but you could run a silver and a golden male with 3 hens of each color. You're bound to get some pure chicks of each

Sounds like a waste of feed to me, tho!!

If you breed GLWs roo to SLWs hens you should get sex links!

I'm looking for some quality LF silver laced wyandottes for a project. who should I buy from (hatching eggs are easiest for me)
I'd like to get from someone that actually shows their birds

you might do better with chicks because I don't know anyone that shows SLWs and sells the eggs....maybe someone else knows.
