They get their chicks thru a hatchery....if you want birds that have a better chance of being show quality and meeting the standard for the breed get them from a breeder.

I don't know who they got their SLW picture from but I can tell you that is not what their breeding stock looks like. Those traits would be passed on in the chicks.

I think I found their picture once on a UK website.

LOL....sorry, not much help. You do know that people pass off the black laced red as Gold Laced Wyandottes right

I think we have at least 2 roos out of our 4 peeps based on the wing-feather method. The youngest is still to hard to tell, so we are checking again tomorrow. Anyone else use this method?

Ms. Turbo, I bought 8 BLRWs from you and you added two chicks to the order (thanks!). Anyways, my question was this....Do you ever add extra Gold laced ones to an order for BLRWs? One of the chicks is very different (doesnt look blue black or splash), so I was wondering if that might be why? I suppose he could just be an "odd bird", too. I have never had wyandottes before, so new to figuring this out.

BTW, all the birds are so friendly and not flighty at all. Really loving the breed, so far. I feel like snow white as they all fly up to be held.

Anna
