yeah...it is. I don't know that I like it, but I think they do it for a couple of reasons. Usually the competition in some of these colors is not nearly as large as it is in the whites, partridge and blacks, so I think they do it to offer a wider pool of competition so to speak. There is also the opportunity for the lesser shown birds to have a chance to go for an award past BV, since most of the time the BB goes to a white, black or partridge.

My friend just sold some, not pure color, just mixed colors as backyard flock. Then the columbians...They went for so much though.
I will wait till spring
I just want LF atm.

yeah...good quality breeding stock usually goes for a pretty good price. My awards money from my hen paid for one of the trios...neither of them were cheap

I figured I better snag them while I saw ones I really liked, otherwise I would regret it x10

This is only done at the National shows (eastern and western) for LF and Bantam. In LF all the varieties except White and SL are classified as AOV. In bantam I think they pull out white, black, SL and Partridge. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Don't show bantams...but I got reserve AOV LF at Crossroads...

you are absolutely right... I should have clarified that it was only for the Nationals tho! Thanks for adding that!
