The Wyandotte Thread

Jerry (Foley) doesnt sell hatching eggs. He only sells chicks and started adults. He is NPIP certified also. Great man and family to deal with. IF you want chicks you better get on the waiting list also.

He is no longer selling chicks. No chicks:(
He will have some started pairs later in the year , but he is cutting WAY back. He no longer has any slw to sell untill he culls out abunch he is growing out.
He doesnt like to sell young SLW.

Me and DMRippy just got back from his house. Such a great guy.

I picked up a trio of silver pencilled wyandotte bantams, a pair of large fowl chocolate wyandottes, and one pair of silver laced wyandottes. I think it was the last he is selling of the slw.

If anyone is interested, he has Silver pencilled wyandotte bantams. Partridge bantams, i think he has some partridge LF pairs available, they have gotten so much better over the last few years.
He might have some blrw breeders for sale too. He is also getting ready to sell his Chocolate orpingtons that he used in his chocolate project. 100% UK line.

Also selling alot of call ducks!

shoot him an email!

Pics tomorrow of my new birdies.

Does Duane Urch raise Gold Laced(standard)? and if so is there a way to contact him about purchasing?

Rodger is going through a molt right now and seems like he's getting a little darker across his back, chest and even the front of his neck. Is it normal for birds to darken up this late? he's getting close to 2 years old now I believe.
(this is a total stink-eye pic but he was annoyed with me trying to run the ducklings out of the coop, lol)

Just wondering where you got him? I know there are quite a few people wanting buff laced here in the US but I didn't think there were any. Is he just a basic dominant white style buff laced?

I hatched him from my flock. His father was a SBLRW & mother a Buff. I should have let them have more chicks but didn't realize there were none over here and kept him because of his beautiful colors. He's got 5 GL girls that will start laying soon, I am not sure if I will hatch any this year or wait until next year... I may not be able to wait(lol) but it's way too hot to do any hatching here currently.

I would have to say yes about the dominant white, he produced TONS of white chicks this year with buff, blue, splash & black hens.

He showed some splashing in his tail feathers when he was younger and he did make some lovely splashes with my older splash girls this year... some of them have buff/yellow leakage of some sort.

Here's his Splash babies from this year.
Cockeral with yellow coming in on shoulders, he's gonna stay with my extra wyandottes i can't bring myself to sell and a few EE's if i don't find them a roo.

His oldest Pullet, she has about 3 buff spots on her, hoping she will molt them out.

Dark Splash pullet. I thought for sure I was going to lose this one a couple weeks ago but after getting back from camping for a week she was mysteriously all better!

Then there's this ruffled-up thing.. Still not sure if it's a pullet or VERY slow growing cockeral!

This one is my little baby, not sure of sex yet but if it survives the night shade poisoning it's going through right now it'll be here for life. Doesn't really have a name but comes to baby, baby cakes, sweetie pie, etc... gonna be weird if it's a roo!

I would love to have a few chicks in the spring. Around feb. actually. I have only 15 or 16 hens and would love to keep the amt small. Would he( Foley) do small num. say 6 at a time. I live in franklin soTenn is not so far if he does not live way away. How do I get in touch with him . Gloria Jean

He is NOT going to sell chicks anymore. Just started birds down the road. I think I got the last chicks he is going to sell. They hatched in a bucked in all the heat we had LOL.

I picked up 4 hens and his BEST BLRW roo... I got a trio of spw bantams too. I will get pics today.

Hall Family Farm: I got my Dottes from Ruth so I guess their Urch,s & Braden,s stock. I'm new to the Dottes & thought they were a really docile breed but my guys will bite me when I get ahold of them. I got them at 2 weeks old & have petted & picked them up from day one. They like to be petted but will bite (not peck) me when I reach for them.Their 4 months old now. It's my understanding that they won't start laying until 8 months old?
