On the 1st of April I hatched out my first 2 chicks.

And started to really worry because the other 6 showed no signs of hatching (I cant figure out the candling:he ) Well now I have 3 more that have just the smallest crack in their shells.

What is the longest time someone has waited for a chick to hatch.
How do you when you should intervien.
One of the eggs looks bloody where he has pecked through the shell.
Is this normal or does it sound premature?

Congrats on the babies. It can take up to 24 hours or a little more once they make the pip to zip all the way out. In that time they are absorbing the yolk and the veins are drying up on the membrane. Good luck with the rest of your hatch.
 
A little blood acn be totally normal. i would wait and see what they do from now on. what i have gathered from everyone is that if they start to move less or they are not peeping as much(other hten when they are resting)that is when you shoudl start to worry.. before then dont worry about a thing.
