Get better soon!

Just make sure if you do the bath that its cool, not cold. You dont want to shock your system.

On the fever reducer, check the ingredient and see if its acetominaphin or ibuprofin. Acet is the same as Tylenol and the ibu is the same as Motrin so dont overdo by adding an extra dose.

You dont want to over medicate, that might make the flu feel worse.

I hope you feel better soon!

you can also rub rubbing alcohol on the back of your neck and forehead..i do that when we get sick and it feels pretty great.

Ice the back of the neck and the armpits. Eat popcicles. Lay around in your skivvies.

Do everything possible to cool down without bringing on shivers.

Rubbing alcohol is not recommended to use as a cooling method.

I love putting on ice pac's during fevers, seems to just help me feel better anyway, more of a comfort thing, when put on the back of the neck it can help lower your temp slightly.

rubbing alcohol is the toxic alcohol, and can be absorbed through the skin. That's the theory any way...so why is it labeled rubbing alcohol if it can't be rubbed on the skin? So do we use drinking alcohol? Rum rubdown? I am curious about this too. Anyone?

Hey- don't double up on the NSAIDs- you are using 2 or maybe 3 depending on what is in the nasty tasting liquid. Read the active ingredients---Also follow the dosing- every 2 hours for Ibuprofen or Acetominophen is probably too often. If you use too much of these things- aspirin, ibuprofen, acetominophen ect you can wreck your liver and or give yourself stomach ulcers. Both much worse than a few days of the flu. 102.8 makes you feel achy, but it is not dangerously high. One's body makes a fever usually to help it get better (sometimes it gets out of control though). A low grade fever is not necessarily a bad thing- unless it persists for days- then get worried. Rest & liquids and healthy food is the best thing for a flu, do not overmedicate. If your body does not respond to the moderate use of medications & rest, or if you get worse in the face of these- SEE A DR!!!!
