There are still really cool people out there.

Oh my, I agree, this is a 6 tissue thread, LOL.

I also agree that the blessing was two-fold cause you may never know how much it blessed him to be able to bless you. It could be that his grandson that reminded him so much of your son may live far away and he may not get to share the holiday's with him. I saw a little girl the other day that reminded me so much of my little grandaughter that lives in Indiana and I hate not being able to see her more. Just seeing that little girl really blessed my heart, especially when she smiled at me in the checkout line and gave me a little wave. Shana is always waving, smiling and blowing kisses to everyone.

My husband and 4 kids were out to dinner one night and the table next to our booth had 8 construction type men sitting there eating. One of them kept looking over at my kids. I started feeling kinda funny about it. I saw the man nudge the man across from him and point at our table. When we got up to leave, the man that had been watching us took DH's hand and placed $40 in it, (more than enough for dinner). The man told DH, "Thank you for taking your family out and spending time with them". The two men had both put in money to pay for our families dinner. My husband stood there in shock and turned to tell the man thank you but he had already slipped out. That meant so much to us that a complete stranger would do that for our family.

I hope someday I'll run across someone that needs help and that I'll be in the position to help them. Imagine if everyone was as giving as the man in my story and the man in the original post, what a great place this world would be.

We also like to pay for young servicemen's meals when we see them out for meals. It is an extra special Thank You for their service to our country.
