There is a baby bird on a branch in my yard cheeping lots should I leave it alone?

The mom should come AND FEED it from the branch.But,do not touch unless you will be keeping an d realsing it.

I thought I should leave it be, I just was kind of worried because it's on a low branch and I don't want something to kill it.

Just leave it alone. I would guess that it's there because it's time for it to leave the nest. It may have fluttered there and will soon be flying.
Even if it isn't independent entirely, and fell, the parents should feed it and protect it still.
