There's something about....

Knowing that there is a place like this to go and share that you are crazy about poultry and know that a few thousand people across the country feel the same way and think people that arent are the crazy ones.

Sitting on the front porch in the Spring, listening to the frogs holler down on the pond and watching lighting bugs flicker over the feilds.

Sitting in the front yard with 30+ chickens climbing and jumping on you for no reason other that to show their effection for you and to let you know they love you and that its ok to wind down and relax for a bit and let everything drift away.

Sitting and watching it rain in the summer and watching the lightining in the distance and listening to the relaxation of the booming thunder.

The smell of fresh cut grass or fresh cut hay.

The smell after it has just rained.

The smell of a horse barn on a hot summer day.

Horse back riding and feeling very calm and tranqual knowing that at that moment you have no worries int he world, its just you and your horse out for the pleasure of the ride.

How about 78 degrees today, not a cloud in the sky. Looking over a fresh tilled garden ready for planting covered with fat red breasted robins and drinking a glass of iced tea. Forty three beautiful babies in the brooder and my wife making ribeyes for dinner and a fresh coconut cake. Yea, that was my day.

AMEN to that.
Washing, conditioning, Show Sheening, braiding and pampering the horses for hours, then watching them roll your efforts away.

Digging for worms while all your chickens stand and watch you with their beady eyes!

Sitting on the back porch with a cup of coffee in the morning and spying on the animals before they know you're up.

Putting on a pair of jeans/shorts you havent wore in months and finding money in them.

How about putting on a pair of jeans you haven't worn in months and finding that they actually fit again!!!
