i have a digital one and a good ol mercury one the digital one says its 99.5 and the mercury one says its like a 104-105 which one should i trust or which one would you trust?thanks in advance

Mercury thermometers take surface temps, not air temps. The mercury wouldn't be accurate unless you have it in a water wiggler or something similar.

i think mercury is more accurate, it count the temp of its probe that located at end of it. mercury can't lie but digital can when the censor is broken or "disturbed" by magnetic or electricity or shake and another. i trust my mercury but also use digital as "compare".

Mercury is more accurate (normally), but they won't work right if they are just laying in the incubator.

yes it must be shake, i shake it after read and put it back.

no, i'm not putting it inside the bator, i make a little hole at my bator, the hole located exactly at the top of eggs level, i "plug" the probe inside and i read it from outside.
