Yeah, I knew that right away. He started getting his wattles in at so young and they were red. He also started attacking me every time I reached in the brooder.Has a rose comb, so that was a Dominique.
Roos need love too!Yeah, I knew that right away. He started getting his wattles in at so young and they were red. He also started attacking me every time I reached in the brooder.
I had a chick that would PlayFight my hand each time I reached into the incubator. It's not aggressive behavior, unless it continues beyond 6months when they mature.Yeah, I knew that right away. I know but I'm only supposed to have at max 4 chickens. I'm at 15. Probably should start drawing attention.Roos need love too!View attachment 2540621
Yeah, he was a little different. He would charge me when the girls would hide screaming. But, hes already been given back and she replaced him with another black australorp I guess.I had a chick that would PlayFight my hand each time I reached into the incubator. The early wattle growth makes me think you were right about it being a boy.
Since you said you see no leakage on the others, I'm suspecting they're Australorps.
BR's have a white spot on top of their head as chicks. Usually, if it is a cockerel the spot will be bigger. So I have 3-4 week old chicks that are supposed to be barred rocks. I specifically bought from this breeder because I wanted barred rocks. But now, at 4 weeks old they are solid black with just white tips on their wings. These are the most recent pictures I have (sorry, we just got over that snowstorm here in Texas) I'll get better ones tomorrow. But, these arent barred rocks, are they?
I zoomed in so you can see the white tips.
