Hey, sometimes you pick the chickens and sometimes they pick you. I'm sure they will be great no matter what they are. I hope they turn out to be your favorites of the flock. They already look cute.

Even Hatchery barred rocks should have barring by 4weeks. They could be australorps or black sex-links....

Possibly black sex links. The only one that had a whit spot on the head ended up being a boy. I was ready trying to avoid dark birds because of how hot we get in the summer. I currently have 5 production blues which are mixed with blue australorps. Do black sexlinks or black australorps do ok in heat?I know chickens in general dont like heat.

I'm also thinking mine are closer to 3 weeks than 4 weeks based on this picture.

They're missing the headspots, which is a distinct characteristic of a Barred Rock chick.

I think you were given Australorps.

My astralorp had a white belly, but no white head. I think you are right. I love my astralorp

Yeah, the only one that had a head spot ended up being a boy. All of these had no head spot.

I'm definitely keeping them, just a little annoyed. I'm already way over my max limit allowed so I really can not get more while we are still living here.
