These Chickens are just KILLING me!

My spoiled rotten brats snub their beaks at lettuce, cabbage, apples. They want mashed potatoes, oatmeal and all the good trimmings! Yes, they are rotten!!!! AND don't appreciate it a bit!

Interesting. My chickens only devour home cooked meals (besides the fancy beetles and the scrumptious blades of grass they find in the yard). But dare I come out of the house with the outer leaves of my lettuce?? You should see their little tails walking away from me with the occasional side glare saying you got us up for this?!

When mine were younger I used to give them the crusts off the bread each evening. One evening I decided to give them something different. When they saw it wasn't bread, they all pivoted around in unision and stared at the trees and ignored me and my offerings. I wish I would have had a movie camera because it almost seemed choreographed because the timing was so good. (All right girls - Forward two three four now spin and freeze!) LOL!

My chickens don't eat cat food either.

I tried mixing it with their BOSS treats, and they just snarf up the seeds and leave the cat food pellets behind.

I have seen my cat picking each piece out of the grass though! Seems like a lot of work for a meal (if you aren't a chicken that is)

What's even more funny is that the poor dog (our firstborn and now somewhat neglected golden) sneakes inside the chicken run and lickes up all the leftovers the ladies didn't find suitable to peck, plus some of their poop. I've found cracked corn in his poop telling me that he might have had a helping of their occasional treat. Picture this big dog scooting amidst the chickens to beg for a treat. How pathetic. Like I said poor thing.

I thought I was the only one with a dog that begged from the chickens! We have a boxer mix (pit bull?) that is terrified of the chickens, but will slink up to their feeders for a nibble if we let her... unless one of the hens see her. They know a victim when they see one! She doesn't have a tail to tuck between her legs, so she has to run with her butt between her font legs!

My ducks think cat food is crack. Before we built their run they had free access to the whole back yard. My son kept leaving the patio door open and the ducks figured out where the cat food bowl is

I SWEAR they planned raids.

So I tried again with the cat food. It was a little better recieved since I put it through the food mill but not by much. BUT when I mixed it with cottage cheese, there was a near riot. The new bantys didn't know any better, but they are beginning to know who brings in the food and coming to the enclosure door.

And eggs you ask? OF COURSE NOT, the little snots. There is always tomorrow.

BTW...the lettuce from Sunday is still on the lawn.
