THEY ARE HATCHING!!!!! Updated Pic Post #56

Dude, they are like bugs. Wait until they are a few weeks and start
"popcorning". When you turn on their light they all pop. It's a hoot.

Button quail are half that size.

We have a total of 21 now. I'm hoping 15 will survive until adulthood.

I'm starting some Bobwhites today. I'm told they get up to 2 pounds.

How much will these Coturnix weigh?

I am hoping for a few more to hatch in the next few hours just so I'm sure I have a decent amount survive if they are as fragile as you are saying.

The females weigh around 10 to 12 ounces.

The reason mine have been delicate is we had a few runts that
got smothered. If you use that fancy brooder you have you can prevent
that.

The second reason is I didn't realized how unquailproof my brooders were.
Many got out. Sandy the hound ate a bunch and then they got out in the
barn brooder at the turkeys got them.

Oh I see. I have that fancy brooder all ready to go. I just need to make sure they can't escape from it and the element works correctly and that I add separate food and water dishes. I will give it a shot in that thing and if it doesn't work out I will have the other brooder ready to go.

I buying one of those this week. Tony from Home and Barn Basics is
sending me info on both the Brower and GQF then I'm gonna order
one from him. They look super cool, easy to clean, and should prevent
the huddle deaths.

The only problems I can see with it are that I won't be able to feed or water them with the system they have and I will have to put paper towels over the wire mesh floor to keep their feet from falling through. I'm also worried about any small openings that they may be able to slip though. I won't have a definite opinion on it until I get them in there.
