Woo Hoo! I'm a mama to 8 adorable chickies!

Got the notice from Meyer that they shipped yesterday and spent a night sleeping fitfully in excitement. At 7 this morning, we got the call from the PO and went down to pick up our babies. All arrived healthy and peeping like mad! Our mail-lady was there along with the PO clerk and we opened them so they could see too. We brought them home to the brooder and all have been cheeping happily, drinking, and eating plenty. I've been taking turns with holding one chick at a time for a little bit to let them get used to me. They all seem very friendly so far, especially our two little white crested black polish gals.

The polishes and the faverolle were easy to distinguish from the others, but as far as sorting out the EE's from the Buckeyes, we're mostly going on guesses. Pics to follow soon and hopefully you all will be able to help us sort out who is who.

HAHA I had to have the Polish as soon as I saw them. So far, they are the bravest and most friendly of all the chicks, though they all seem to be pretty cool with being held and coddled. Hoping this continues through as they get older. I'm not necessarily bent on having a lap chicken as that would make Pumpkin VERY jealous, but attentive, people friendly hens are the goal.

Congrats to you all. I love the polish breed. My husband says we have alot in common. Our hair looks the same in the morning. New to this all. Bayouchick and Reddog
