They ate a mouse!

Has anyone else experienced their ducks dispatching a mouse? This morning I found some mouse fur and a tail laying on top of their chips, where an hour earlier there was nothing. I think my two pekins ate it?!

I haven't seen mine eat mice, but I have no doubt they would. They go after anything that moves that will fit down their throat.

Yup! My Muscovy girls will go for mice. They once even stole a mouse from my cat! It takes a lot of maneuvering and crushing of bones with their bills and lots of drinking of water, but they eventually get them down!

I've seen my peacocks eat mice whole. My Muscovy drake slurped down a garter snake. That was gross. Did make me wonder how fast stomach acid kills something eaten alive.

My Thimbleberry made friends with rats, and happily shared her food. The other ducks chase them away.

I've heard plenty of stories about ducks eating mice!! And even seen a photo of a tail sticking out of a bill!

Yes! My Cat would bring mice to my two ducks and they would tear it to shreds. Weird little game they played.... lol
