Wow! They're about 4 1/2 weeks right? Do you know about how much they weigh? It should be nice this weekend do I'll be moving my tractor and weighing them then... And I'll get some pictures to post too!

Moved their tractor today and weighed them ... Average of 2.1 lbs! Some of the boys were 2 1/2 lbs which seems crazy to me but even that is below the growth chart I found online ( but that was for Cornish cross and I've got freedom rangers.
400

I put a pan with peat moss for them
400
... It was nice and warm and one figured out how to dust bath within a few minutes. I go from thinking they're like piranha one minute to regular chickens the next!

Oh they look nice I thought about Getting rangers But I Decided to stick with what I know Maybe next time I will do a little mixed .Have you ever Had them before ?

Not at all! These are my first meaties ever! I was thinking I should try the Cornish cross next though.

Well I Work for Burger king and have all size boxes I took a 2 croissant boxes and taped them together so it was pretty big (But I had 50 Birds )They wont be in the box very Long any way Maybe a week or 2 Max before they are on the ground I only have them on that bedding stuff for a while I don't waist time On frills they are hear for 1 purpose to grow and be eaten , They grow Pretty fast any way so Make sure you have your area prepared For after the box , I would use your Best Judgment But if you feel they are not warm enough I would separate them in 2 areas with proper heating, I had 1 super cold night and had 2 lights going and lost 8 birds due to piling to keep warm and that is a lot of money waisted

I've processed a couple roosters before, so I could ... But it's a bad time of year with the garden season starting ... So we're going to have someone else do them this time. That said though, there are a couple that are much bigger than the others and they might need to go a little earlier so maybe we'll do 2 or 3 :)
