24 weeks is the 6 month mark when most begin to lay. Some do take longer though.
I would say to expect an egg sometime in the next 4 weeks. If one of the girls lays earlier than that is a bonus.

well seams there are alot of us all in the same egg-less boat... lots of pullets hatched in march and april not laying yet.. I am not concerned now sense it isnt just my girls..

I do think Im going to find a way to keep them all up during the day for a while.. its just this dang heat I hate to ,make them stay up in it.

Nah, not worthless. Some heritage breeds lay a lot slower than production chickens.

I have 3 squatting and one singing the egg song loud and clear yesterday! However, no egg.

I'm thinking they will lay sometime this week? I sure hope so!

My almost 23 week old RIR has been squatting for 3 weeks now. I have no idea what's taking her so long.
