This 4 week old black chick is suppose to be a female Barred Rock I purchased from McMurray's. I see no barrs on it like the other female Barred Rock they sent me as you can see from the pictures. Are Barred Rocks sometimes solid black???

Nope. Barred rocks also have yellow legs, not slate. Maybe it is a black australorp, but I'm not sure.

Barred is a variety of the Plymouth Rock breed. There are Black Plymouth Rocks but I doubt that is what yours is. Probably a hatchery mix-up.
 
Maybe an australorp? Definitely not a BR, that's for sure.
Thank you! I specifically requested either a Barred Rock or Ameraucana as a subsitute, so I am so disappointed my request wasn't fulfilled. But she is very sweet.

It could be an ameraucana. I'm not sure what comb type they're supposed to have, though.
