They want to make it ALL illegal. What do you think of Senate Bill 510

Wow! That's absolutely shocking! His film certainly portrayed a different ideology to me. Then again, his work never actually blames government for failing to enforce the laws concerning food production that are already on the books. I guess he thinks that more laws will fix the problem. Still, I think that Food. Inc. is a great eye opener.

“If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.”
~Thomas Jefferson, 1781

Wow.

yep wow x2. I find this alarming, (and not in a supportive way in case there's any doubt.)

WOW !! I cannot believe how little some people "see". Haven't you noticed all the new restrictions placed upon us? Don't you know someone whose medical care, insurance, etc has changed for the worse?
Do you want illegals to take MORE of our resources? Monsanto producing plants that do NOT produce viable seeds after one generation? There are hundreds of things that threaten our health, lives and liberty.
Most notably since 9/11. Do NOT believe the mainline media--they serve other interests-not ours

We have differing opinions about who is blind and who is not. You think I'm blind because I don't live in fear and see evil behind every tree and shrub, fearing everything and everyone. I think you're blind because you see only ill will and evil behind every tree and shrub and don't see the good that can be accomplished when .

Two sides of a coin.

Couldn't disagree more. The ability to voice these varying opinions openly is what has set this country apart from the rest of the world. [I do have to admit that political correctness & the concept of "hate speech" have eroded our freedom to a degree] Since yoy believe varying opinions are "ruining" America I imagine you think the world would be a better place if everyone would just see things your way.

Perhaps I should rephrase. I can see where my words could have been misleading, although there was no need to insult me.

It is not that varying opinions are dangerous. EXTREMISM is dangerous. Extreme left, extreme right, extreme this, extreme that... when you start imposing extreme views on a society, wars break out and the society collapses. If human history has taught us NOTHING else, it should have taught us that. We are fortunate that we have the conscious ability to learn from our mistakes, both as individuals and as a society, though political machines rarely do learn from their mistakes (not speaking necessarily in regards to this or ANY particular country, just human history and societies in general).

You're right in that the ability to freely express ourselves and our varied opinions is one of the things that makes the country great. I certainly would not be the person I am today if I did not open myself up to other ideas than my own. I didn't come out of my mama's womb with the ideas and opinions I have today... I have gathered and assimilated that information throughout the course of my life, as did we all. I recognize this and remain open to other thoughts, ideas, and opinions.

And please, do not purport to imagine that I "think the world would be a better place if everyone would just see things [my] way." I am, however, of the OPINION THAT the world would be a better place, though, if EVERYONE took a few seconds to see another person's viewpoint and at least attempt to understand it AND tried being nicer to one another while we're at it.

We do have to live in a society that has varied viewpoints and ways of living, and intolerance and extremism only creates walls of division, not a cohesive society. But don't take MY word for it. Read history. It'll tell ya.
