Yup farmers getting raided. They raid the raw milk and raw food co-ops all the time. I second "Food Inc" and if you haven't seen "polyface farms" thats a good one too about the potential of organic farming and sound eco-friendly farming methods. I think the farmer says in that film that the gov't wanted to stop him from selling his organic chickens just because he dresses them outside.

There is a guy on youtube who got fined for growing too many organic vegetables. Don't take my word for it please! Educate yourself before you decide nothing is going to happen to you.

So I understand they put in an amendment to allow you to grow your own food BUT you still can get it trouble if you give away or sell your own foods to another person. That is going to kill farmers markets. I probably need to read over it again... and again. You know how bills are. I also can't believe no one is upset about the saving seeds part? what gives?

forstadt: Oh my, I urge you to look into this further. I used to have the same mindset as you. I never thought that the 'people' in charge would do anything to hurt the American public.

Lets start with hemp. Did you know that the government used to PAY farmers to grow it? That is, before it was outlawed. For those of you that don't know the health benefits of hemp, please google it; you will be amazed. Now before you 'non-believers' chastize me for having the audacity to suggest that something related to marijuana could be good for us, please realize that relating hemp to marijuana is like comparing a domestic house cat to a tiger. Yes, they are in the same family, but the dangerous charistics are only in the latter of the species. Hemp does have a miniscule amount of THC (the acitve ingredient in marijuana that gives a 'high') but not nearly enough to get a 'high'. I guess you kitten COULD potentially scratch your eyes out and therefore be a 'danger to your health', but really?

Again, I ask you; does our government have anything financial gain by KEEPING us healthy? This bill lets the Feds get ahold of natural remedies also known as 'supplements' by the definition of supplements as 'food'. They outlawed hemp years ago. What makes you think they can't outlaw anything else you grow?

Please, please think about this and then contact your legislators...
