I expected a late hatch as I've had some lower bator temps this round- but out of 40 eggs, 16 were "duds" (new male, not sure of his 'aim' lol) and as of this morning I have 12 that have hatched and are SO active and hopping around exploring!

I can't wait to see how many I get- but 12 strong ones out of 24 viable gives me a 50% hatch rate so far, and today is day 17

I'm uploading some photos now- was too excited to wait to post up!

I've been asking my friends to donate old eggs cartons to me from their store bought eggs- and those cartons are my favorite that say "cage free eggs" on the back

Since I didn't have a ton of eggs to put in the bator I filled a few of those cartons with sand to help hold the heat. It worked quite well!

thanks everyone- they are just the most adorable little things ever

I can't wait to go home after work and hang out with them!
