We set 10 eggs July 2nd. 1 egg was infertile, 1 egg died, 1 egg got cracked and died. 7 eggs left. Yesterday, 5/7 of the eggs piped. Today, 6/7 eggs piped. Here's the story... so far!!!!! :

Eeek!!! I'm SO EXCITED! We weren't sure about the broody's, since they were fighting over eggs, stealing them from each other, and just being 'not-the-best' broody's. If a chick hatched,we didn't know what they'd do, since this is their first time. My mom went out at 2:00 am, nothing. We just went out like 10 minutes ago and my mom was like, "Do you hear that chirping?" It was really loud! It turned out to be a wild bird.... well. I got in there and Houdinni was under Daisy's armpits, she must've liked that... Well, Houdinni forgot about 2 eggs, or maybe not. One of the brown eggs was broken.. in half. One half was by the other two eggs, the other under Houdinni. AHHH!!! YES!!!!! One of the second eggs who piped yesterday had hatched! It looks like a light brahama, yellow with tiny furry legs! Except, they birds are all mixes, and it has a black dot on it's head. We're calling her/him Dot! It looks like she just hatched 30 minutes ago, she wasn't wet, nor dry. She was all cuddled under Daisy, and Daisy was trying to protect her from my hand. Turns out these two can be good mothers

. Houdinni had slided over so the chick could get out (I'm guessing) and after it was out, forgot about the other two eggs. IT was a bantam egg and I think another light brown egg. The bantam egg had a hole about a cm. big, and cracks all around it. The bantam is yellow looking

. They were cold.. .the bantam egg was still moving though. So I'm hoping everything will be alright, and my brother and I are going to check back around 6:30 since a bantam egg looked close to hatching. Sorry, no pictures. It's dark out!

. Maybe next time I check.. it is so cute

. After I put the chick back (my mom and I were holding it for a couple seconds) it immidently tried going into houdinni's back, (SO CUTE!!!) Then I put her under Daisy and she went under her wing, and Daisy purred a nice little sound

. Happy endings...

Well. Not really. Still have 6 eggs to go! And the bantam egg I kept seeing moving inside the shell hasn't piped. My blue egg did! It's not very far along though, but at least it's alive.

I will get pictures when it gets lighter out, but here are some pictures of the broody's :).

2nd to hatch, a yellow bantam. (No pics after, I had to put her/him back :). )

Dot & Daisy (she was actually being a good mom here!)

Dot

Enjoy :). More pics to come!

How cute!!! We hatched our fist chick about 3 weeks ago. It was fun watching and waiting for the chick to stick its head out from under its mom!!!!

:). 2 more chicks have hatched. So far we have got:
Light brahama mix (Dot)
SilverLaced Wyandotte mix (?)
Some sort of yellow bantam mix
Turken mix

But... not everything goes as planned. The turken chick probably hatched 15 minutes ago. I was putting starter feed by the chicks and it's shell was bloody. It was damp, and cold sitting in a heep in the corner, not moving. I thought it was dead, but it peeped. It was barely moving. The SLW that came out later than it was more energetic that it, and my dad said it was dead. But I'm going to try to save this little guy!

The one trying to get back under Houdinni after eating is a SLW mix, no name yet. The yellow chick with the black dot is named Dot, Light Brahamamix, and the bantam at the bottom... no idea. No name yet.

Another picture of them running around

Dot and the bantam

Teddy came out just to check what was happening :).

This has been a great expirience! No worries, they all came out on their own. They don't want to stay in their Momma's :).

OH yes! Teddy is doing great, slower than the others, but he's just still getting warm. What confuses me is that there seems to be almost swelled by his butt. Not swelled... i don't know. Maybe it's just because he has no feathers there. Well, Teddy is three different breeds!
Naked Neck (turken)
Silkie
Easter Egger

Weird! Teddy's so weird it's so cute!!!

The other chicks keep running around instead of staying in their Momma's. Two of the three eggs should hatch in the next hour, but one of the bantam eggs still no pips.... pictures :)

The 6th egg hatched, the blue egg. I wanted an EE.... but I have no idea what this chick is! IT is kind of black, with furry legs and orange legs.... Oh well! :) Now the last bantam has to hatch... oh. And the 2nd bantam egg hatched. IT looks identical to the first hatching bantam!
