I agree with many of the sentiments here, especially ginnyj and kelidei (similar things to what I'd say). It seems to me that many, many Americans, from a variety of spectrumsbut they're all hard-working, responsible, quiet folk who just do their thingsimply want to be left alone. Since we're the ones paying the bills, it's definitely time for us to stand up for ourselves and those like us who just want to preserve what our forbears grew up with.
Sometimes my grandfathers and I get talking, and they say they feel sorry for me and any children I might have. The freedoms taken away from us since they were my age...it's shocking. We're not children, we're not fools. We don't need all of these "safety nets" and "guard rails" put in place by people living in a bubble. That's what family, friends, and neighbors are for.
I'm not a nut. None of us are. We just want to live freely. I'm tired of seeing people labelled as "nuts" or "crazy" just because they want to be responsible and take care of themselves and their family! The labels seem only meant to deride, insult, and split apart. I don't want to live in a tyranny just because some suit thinks he knows better than we do how to live. I'd trust the first 10,000 names in the NYC phone book more than most of the folks in power at any time! LOL
