OH, hos I love Chicken TV.

For the last few days I couldn't understand what happened to the manufacturers label on the chicks feeder....Yesterday, I realized they were eating it!
Then I saw them eating wood chips - Crazy since they are fed treats constantly.

They will eat stink bugs, but won't eat beetles. As for carrots-they can't get enough of them, as well as cantaloupe; pineapple rind; cheese.
Made a quiche the other day, and they ate left over crust.

I'm encouraged by chickens eating varmints...we have families of chipmunks, and would be happy for the girls to take
over "disposing" of them, and give me a break!

Like the post about a string of cabbage heads during the winter for exercise and warmth- going to try that.

Great thread with great ideas.

Two large citronella candles, the bottom of my 7 yr old daughter's Taco Bell Burrito, my ENTIRE Strawberry patch (Plants AND BerriES) All 20 of my Tomato plants, and ANY SEEDS I try to grow whether in a pot, patch or bucket. I had to buy chicken wire to protect my STUFF from the chickens, not just the CHICKENS from Stuff! Also, if they see YOU eating it, they assume it is yummy and will get in your lap or take a flying leap UP to have a taste, if not steal the whole thing. NEVER try to eat Popcorn on the PATIO! In the fall I stand at the Pomegranate tree and pop a few open for them as I enjoy my own, THAT is their FAVORITE treat...besides freeze dried mealworms.
