Things you remember but that most young folks never heard of. Pre 1980

Personally, I think the goober next to the big haired beauty needs to be locked up for mullet abuse!

Yep that frizzy hairdo was very popular...UGH! Now try combing that out!

I still am stuck with a Dorothy Hamill wedge haircut after a five year long hair for CW reenactments and I said enough is enough. Cut it off as I did! That is the only hairdo that flatters me.

LOLOL! I remember those home hair dryers! Those harsh prickly rollers and foam rollers! I swear they would give us a face lift if we roll it very tightly!!!!!!!

Remember those vapor humidifers when we were sick?????

I LOVED the vaporizer! With the little cup in the top to fill with Vicks vapo rub!!

How about the plastic steam curling irons??

Technically this would me an the family about 1980.

I seriously miss the good Saturday morning cartoons.... my sisters and I fought over the 'privelege' of dusting the living room because that was where the TV was!!

My ten year old was reading over these posts with me and I had to explain 'Alice' to her.... who can forget "Well, kiss my grits!"? LOL

How about the Commodore 64? ...maybe not pre-80 but pretty close. We thought we were special, trying to write the 'if-then' program to make the screen change to that cyan green.

Loved 'Schoolhouse Rock'... have it on VHS tape now... gotta upgrade to DVD, I guess. I think I like it more than my kids do.

We had a jukebox that played records, cassettes and 8-tracks!! We thought it was the greatest....especially when we turned the volume up loud enough to make the lights in the jukebox flash; but then Mom would yell and we would have to turn it down again.

We were always losing the yellow thing for the 45's.

Played outside in the woods all day .... came running when Mom blew that whistle! Now, I don't feel safe letting my kids out in the front yard. Sad.

So many great things back then.

My DH had a buddy (DH and i are HS sweethearts) with a 57 Chevy and a red "glass" knob shifter. How I loved that thing. Radios were all controlled by 2 knobs in a car. Heater was in the front of the car, no back seat heater. You used a key to lock and unlock both the doors and the trunk. My brother had a convertible that you pushed a button and the hard top went into the trunk, but that was before the 80's . . .I am older than I realize when I get to thinking back . . .I keep wanting to go back into the 60's!!!

Did anyone see where Kool-Aide has come back with the fizzies you drop in water? THAT was a big deal when I was a kid!!!
