People who leave carts in parking spots are a pet peeve of mine. Especially when there's a cart space just a few spaces over.

Or they roll the cart over to the edge of the parking lot and put the front wheels up on the curb. Ok, so the cart won't roll, but Geez-O-Friday, why don't you put it where it is supposed to go??

I read somewhere a few years ago that you could tell the character of someone by whether or not they put the cart back up.

I considered taking my employees shopping, then, keep them, or fire them, depending on what they do with the cart. But, I thought, I already know pretty much what I need to know about the character of the ones I already have. So, then, I thought it would be a good idea before making a new hire. If I had three I interviewed for the position, then, those 3 went shopping with me. But, for some reason HR thought I had lost my mind And, that’s when I knew it was genius.

I park where:
1) it is convenient to put the cart in the corral, and
2) it is easy-ish to get to the store entrance now that they've torn up the parking lot and have all kinds of barriers in place.

I try to park away from any other vehicles if at all possible, so sometimes I have a long trek to put the cart back up. But, I do it, rain, sleet, snow, or 100F temperature. TSC keeps them inside the foyer, or at least the ones I have been in, and I take it back. I would probably dis it with lightening popping, though.

I had a guy that was heading in as I was heading out of Publics recently, and he offered to take it back, which I thanked him kindly and let him. Good character on that guy. I should have asked him if he needed a job.

There is another way of looking at it, too. There are people that get paid to go out and get those carts. I guess you make their job easier putting them where they go. But, at the same time, it pays the same, and they don't seem to be hurrying when they are running them down, so maybe not that busy. But, leaving them in a parking space is causing problems for people trying to park.

I saw one rolling downhill in a huge parking lot until it smacked into the side of some guys truck. Smacked it pretty good. It was way too far away to try to attempt to run it down.

I talked to someone about buying something from them last night. They acted like I'd need to jump on it cause others were interested. I told them I could come first thing in the morning. Like early cause I had limited time and it was a drive.
Oh, no problem, no problem at all. Told them check for my message in the morning. I'd message by 8 so.get back to me asap after that cause I'd have to get going to make it work.
Again no problem. The got back to me at almost noon and asked if between 12:30 and 1 would work?
I know my early and my morning is probably earlier then some but I'm pretty sure 12:30 to 1 isn't morning anymore. I'd already got up and went in on my day off, worked 1/2 shift and was back home before hearing from them.

Ya I'm not going to leave one in a parking spot, the middle of a lane or anywhere it could roll away. I very seldom have left one curb hopped but being honest I have.
Idk my rhythm or reason. Sometimes I put them in the corral if it's close but most times I just take it back inside regardless of where the corral is.
I also often take someone's back in if I'm heading in and see the opportunity. Maybe it's all random to keep people guessing about my character. I'm mysterious like that.

When I worked at Petsmart, I loved going to get the carts, especially if it was nice outside. I got to be outside and wasn't getting yelled at by customers
