Modern country and modern pop is basically the same.

I don't think this is entirely true but ya lots of modern country that is too pop sounding for me. There's a new one out now that has a rap vibe. Not fond of that one either

You misunderstand. I would choose being deaf over willingly listening to country. Anything by default is better. I don't have to be a swiftie to like her pop stuff over her country stuff. Even SHE knew there wasn't a comparison.

Doesn't mean I like her stuff in general. I just like it better than all modern country.

Old country and blues are the foundations from which most other music in the US sprang post WWII. I respect our elders.
