Thank you! I don't know the regular traditions of New Year's because for me it comes with bread pudding and diet pepsi (yup! I live on the wild side. ), but I hope you and yours have a blast celebrating!

Well, I'm German and it's tradition to have pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day. Brings good luck. So, I invited my sister and her family over for a good feast. We will be going to her house for New Year's Eve. Mom and Dad invited everyone over again but after Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, then Christmas Day, I need a break from most of my sisters. Love them but they can be a lot to deal with. Then their husbands...

I am late to say that here because I was cooking and wrapping presents 24x7.
Once done I was drawn into a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle - two days later and with 5 of us working it in between meals, we are still not done!

I'll be making a pot of black-eyed peas, it's supposed to bring good luck and prosperity to eat them on New Year's Day and besides I just really like them and they were a childhood tradition. Sadly my children are not crazy about them so they will probably nuke themselves a hot dog, lol.

I did not throw away the celery the Princess needs for the Rigatoni Bolognese that she is making for tomorrow's 'get together'.


It was okay - garbage pickup is late because of the holiday, and i garbage dove. A little frozen is okay, right?
