Mine is a 2011 13-inch MacBook Pro. I don't know which 2014 MacBook Pro you have but if it's a 13-inch one I'm going to guess it has the same trashy cooling solution designed for a processor from 2009.

Yah. I run mine on Sequoia, but even on its native High Sierra it just takes one browser tab to get it to full speed. I suppose I should try Linux on it.

OK well ThinkPads have a weird red thing in the keyboard. I have one but that's because they are at least reliable.
