My most cringe "mash" moment was when, after a flash of teenage genius inspired me to put the lumpy mashed potatoes into the blender, the boyfriend I'd invited to dinner casually asked for "another glass of potatoes, please."

Using a handmixer to mash is useful though! You do have to make sure you don't overboil or go too long on the mixing though. Or they get all sticky like dough.

Hubby went from last year "they will cost more than we get and be a pain, I dont want them. Fine I will let you have the free chicks from the neighbors, I dont expect them to survive or produce though. " to "Fill the incubator to max please! Also any broodies you get just give her the max amount of eggs! No, don't worry about space. I will expand. As many chicks as you can make please!"

Only thing mashed potatoes need imo is lots of butter, and maybe a small amount of seasoning depending on what you're serving them with. The trick is to let them steam a bit after draining, so they aren't too watery, then give them a good beating once they're mashed.
