Things you wish you could say

An aunt that raised 9 children on her own after her husband died of cancer would ask for lemon slices for her water and proceed to turn her free water into free lemonade whenever she had the rare opportunity to dine out.
Nothing wrong with that. The only reason we didn't like that was because, as a waitress, that doesn't make the check any higher, therefore the tip is lower. Man, I did not enjoy being a waitress

Wood Duck taste good too, just watch out for slivers on your tongue :P

A bit of lemon is ok on fish, I find it can take some of the oof out of crevelle's. Also for those worrying about salt in your diet, a bit of lemon, or if you can find it anymore, crystalized lemon peel, makes a halfway decent salt substitute.

$%#& electric company, get out here and get the trees off the electric lines before they catch fire! I see smoke coming off them! We told you this 4 hours ago!
Would it help if you called the Fire Department?
They deal with fires, so they may also be able to lean on the electric company to prevent a fire.

(But I've noticed that when trees fall on power lines, it seems to happen in clumps: a strong wind knocks down lots of trees, and the power company takes a whle to work their way through them all. So they might be dealing with some that are even worse than yours, if that is possible.)

ALL faults of that nature eventually clear themselves :p
To safely get them off they will have to probably kill that line temporarily at least. May be waiting for a better time of day to do so, or possibly the 'urgency' of the report was not made clear to them.

Power companies frequently get reports of vegetation contacting lines, however unless it's urgent they may wait until normal hours to clear it, since it's not causing a problem yet. Without actually seeing your problem, I can not give you an accurate feedback, however if it is smoking now, Id call them again.

WHATEVER YOU DO STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM IT. IF IT'S THAT HOT THERE CAN BE A KILL RADIUS OF 30 FEET OR MORE AROUND THAT TREE.

STEP VOLTAGE KILLS.... STAY AWAY... PLEASE

Edit I work for the power company, this is one thing I DO know what I am talking about. STAY WELL AWAY !!

Fire departments rarely can / will mess with power fires. They won't do a thing until the power company comes and clears the lines. It's just too dangerous for them.

That's why I said they might be able to "lean on the electric company"-- I meant that someone calls the fire department because there is smoke, and the fire department looks at it and calls the electric company, and the electric company decides it really is serious so they send a team out sooner.

IT would not hurt to call 911 at this point if it's smoking. Yes, let them know it's now an urgent situation.

Worse case, something goes really wrong, THIS is proof you need to recover any claims of potential negligence or whatnot if god forbid you end up having to file insurance claims. ie we told them, they did not come out, now they get to buy me all new stuff because it cooked, the house burned to the ground etc etc.

Also, depending on how dirt baggy your insurance company wants to be (hello state farm), this helps clear any 'suggestions' that YOU were negligent, ie you seen a problem and did nothing to fix it before it got worse.
