Things you wish you could say

Agree. All sorts of magic works. Until it doesn't.

Please provide the scientific studies with peer review that support your statement. I say studies cause we know that a single, non repeated, study really doesn't prove anything beyond providing a good basis for improvement or identifying other pertinent variables.

Speaking of which, why do human doctors provide pills with one test result? You have high cholesterol. Single data point, what is the trend? I had bacon for breakfast. Regardless, you need pills or you will die.

Will I? I'm willing to test that hypothesis.
You're going to die no matter what you do. It's all about how long you want to delay the inevitable.

Mine didn't. He told me to hit the treadmill and stop being a fattie. :p I got an extended lecture on how it was linked to diabetes and how we were going to treat it with diet and exercise because at my age it's better to go that route unless there is no option.
I had a fat doctor tell me that I needed to lose weight. Get this. With a straight face.

Pot meet kettle. Kettle meet pot. Time for a new doctor.

Yep. Diet and exercise. How do you think I got to this condition in the first place? If I was dieting and exercising, do you think that I'd be fat? No, I'd be dead.

I like doctors. They should be taken in moderation, challenged on everything and fact checked. Otherwise, they WILL kill you. Graveyard dead. I guarantee!

I had a doctor tell me that I needed to gain weight - just a couple of years before that he said, "You know if you gain more weight we'll have to do something about that."

He also prescribed a drug and then later asked if it was working. I replied, "No, I stopped taking it." When he asked why, I replied, "Have you used it? If not you should try it before prescribing it." I will not go into the side effects. :lau

I do not. My physically demanding job and all the work I do around the house is not exercise in their eyes. I do like them for stitches, broken bones, or other trauma. Surgeons as well. Regular doctors are just pharma pimps.
I "fired" a doctor for prescribing pills instead of looking for root cause of symptoms. You are allowed to ask for a different doctor if you don't like the one you have.

💯 They tell you to follow the USDA food pyramid to eat healthy. Then when you get diabetes, you take insulin. Then eat the carbs they recommend, spike your blood sugar, take more insulin to lower blood sugar. Then gain weight on top of it

In defense of doctors; they are human too! Mine has been getting thin, then fat, then thin, for years. It's a struggle many of us share.
And about medications; new drugs, older drugs, and every five years, at least, recommendations change. And nobody knows everything about everything...
Of course it's best to be comfortable with the doctors you see!
