That's tough. I remember visiting my mom in the hospital from ages 12-15 while she went through treatment for leukemia.

For 4-5 years, I accompanied my dad to his cancer treatments. He passed away September 2022. My sister soon after went into hospice, and passed away April 2023. Now my sil has been diagnosed with the same cancer that killed my sister, and I am accompanying her to her appointments.

If she does not cause a ruckus here, I will buy her pizza. I am bribing her. And threatening her, on accident. She hates Barney (I did not know this at first), and I told her I will buy her a Barney doll that she can bring with her. At least she is not nervous anymore. I have her craving pizza and terrified that I will give her a purple dinosaur; who can be nervous of other things when I am offering pizza and Barney?
