I wish I could say that I think my neighbors won't burn through all of their wood AND the stack by their parent's house by February.

I really hope mom and dad won't mind. They did all the felling, cutting, and stacking.

Have you guys even really needed a wood burner yet? We have ours going but it hasn't even been a cold winter yet

It's been a rather warm December, but yeah, we are using our woodstove.

I wish I had put an insert in our fireplace. Also in our wood stove, I am so done with using firewood, so much work, so messy.

Wish I could say it was 28C and lovely. But we all know that would be an untruth here!

That's what we have, a wood burning insert for our fireplace. Love it, it's so efficient. We also have a wood cook stove but that is not hooked up yet

I am so done with using firewood, so much work, so messy.

Yeah, it is a lot of work, and yeah! it is messy. The self sufficiency is a good feeling, though.

Yea that one is hard - I now, never expect anything from anyone.

I am thinking more a propane insert - but so expensive.

They make pellet stove inserts for fireplaces.

When I moved here one of the first things I did was to tear out the fireplace and replace it with a wood stove. When I got tired of still cutting and splitting wood in January, I switched to a pellet stove.
