They prefer to be warm and comfy, sitting on top of a nice fluffy biscuit. Or at least that's how I prefer them to be.

Let's not forget the amazing contributions of spell- checker, which on this very site once turned "I put her on medicated feed" to "I put heroin medicated feed", and regularly changes my Nankins into "Mankind".

I can usually read typonese, but not spellchecknese.
Then I want to say...
Have you heard of the concept of proofreading? and there is an edit function!

I think newcomers to this site can be caught unaware. You read and you read, hopping quickly from one topic to the next, then you respond quickly to one and blammo! The rest is history. Or whatever spell-checker decides it is.

I think the know-it-alls who try to make you feel stupid because you do things different than they do, ie.. not having a covered run or other such "personal situation" choices, make me the most angry. People have different situations and what may work for you doesn't fit my situation so why do you feel the need to shame me?

I get rather ****ed with some "know it alls" because I know I'm just going to get yelled at for asking for help. Sucks, cause there were and are times that I really wish I could ask questions, but I'm sick of being called irresponsible and being told that I'm wrong for wording things differently

An example of what I was trying to say. This is a quote from a previous post. Just because I don't know how to move a quote like others do, doesn't make me stupid. It simply means I don't know how and would like to be taught.

Anyway. Proofreading and editing does not help a person with limited literacy skills. If you don't know you made a mistake, you can't correct it.

There is a wonderful little book called, "Keeping Poultry and Rabbits on Scraps: A Penguin Handbook," first published in 1941, and the facsimile republished in 2008.

The book talks about the differences between pre-war and post-war rationing, which lasted until 1953! Wasting food became a felony in the 1940s in England, they say. Food was graded by condition. Food that was deemed to be too old for humans was allowed to be used for animals.

Nowadays, some people would call this inhumane.

Not to mention keeping chickens in the basement, during the blitz.
