I have to keep explaining this to my daughter. She goes on long meandering stories. She had to call a mechanic for the first time it was a struggle getting her to get to the point

Teach her the basics of troubleshooting.
1 - Define the problem (full description of what is happening, including errors/symptoms)
2 - Determine what the cause might be
3 - Implement fix
4 - Test
If fixed, you're done. If it's not fixed, go back to step 2 and repeat until it's fixed.

The most important part is step 1. If you don't know what the problem is you're unlikely to be able to proceed to step 2.

I'm behind her as she's telling the story of how she got the car telling her what to say.
You need a quote for tires, alignment and a thermostat, they don't need to know about how you got it, just give them the make and model.
I even had her write down everything before the call.

One person was furious that, on their brand new computer, they had no internet search history. Well, these days you can log into your profile and have all of your history, bookmarks, and everything no matter what device you're on!

I understand, though. I had a user call and she wanted me to remote into her laptop and work on it. When I couldn't connect, she told me that it was turned off and in the trunk of her car.
