I wish I could say I enjoyed my visit with my family. The stress between them stressed me out. I don't see it getting any better between them, sadly.

I’d say get the h outta there or just form your own union and parade around the outside of the building with signs. That will get some attention.

And I would 100% document your pay stubs and file a complaint with the labor board for wage theft. Even if they say "yeah too bad", he's still got to take the time and deal with the inconvenience of them being up in his biz.

There have always been jobs that you work for less than minimum wage because you are allowed to get tips. Waitresses and waiter are one. Nothing illegal about it. That’s been going on forever.

I wouldn’t think housekeeping would get that many tips but that is probably his loophole

Yeah. It was more the petty revenge part of forcing him to have to deal with the labor dept over a group complaint than any expectation they'd get back pay.

I got a friend in Panama City that works in the condo building she lives in on the beach in their tiki bar/grill as a cook. It is seasonal work, like they just shut down the other day until this Spring. But, while it is going she rakes in the money. She makes just $9 an hour, but they tally up the tips at the end of the night and slit them equally and she makes between 4-6 hundred a night. I'm like ****!! I am in the wrong business lol

She sometimes finds something else but usually just chills the down months.

Yeah tip wage can be good in places with a lot of traffic. Even more so if you are charming, attractive, or both, and know how to work a table.

True, and so many of them now do what they do which is split equally between the waiters, cooks, hosts, dishwashers etc..
