Things you wish you could say

There will always be mean people and people who think that they're giving good advice without realizing how it sounds to the recipient. I lost count of how many times I was told "You'd be really pretty if you wore makeup," when I was younger.
You too? I can't begin to count how many people have told me this through the years

My sisters make me laugh. They work really demanding jobs that get them sweaty and dirty, but they still spend 30+ minutes every morning putting on makeup. I asked them before if they wore makeup to attract a guy at work, they both said no, and I not so lovingly pointed out that it was stupid to smear the gross goop all over their faces before going to work, whether or not there were attractive guys there. Like, why!? Why do you need to "look and feel pretty" to go to a job that you hate, with people that you hate, only to come home and have your eye goop making it look like you spent the day getting punched in the face? And that crap is not cheap! They spend hundreds of dollars every few months to slather it on like clowns. A lot of people tell me that I should wear makeup, and I always tell them that if I want to paint myself up like Bozo, then I will join the circus.

I am happy though that people have stopped commenting on the fact that I wear mens clothes pretty much everywhere. I put my hair up like a woman, but I dress in 'gangsta' pants and dark humored pullovers. To me, that contradicting look is so much more appealing than the alternatives. I do not care what other people wear (even makeup. I do not care. But with my sisters I do say things, because they are number one in bothering me about wearing it.), but to me, I dress in the way that I think looks and feels the best suited to my personality (I guess my sisters do, too, but still. I talk crap because they started it. 🤣). To each their own, and all of that junk, though. ✌🏻
I wear makeup but only powdered cover up. Helps me to feels less shiny and makes me feel "ready". I usually go sans makeup in the summer

Ya know, Before I had a daughter, I'd have made a smart-alecky comeback to that. Now, I'd just put out a hit on the fool who said it.
Mosy of the time, I was in customer service when they said it to me. The customer is very rarely right😁
