I wish I could say the army recruiter actually knew how to use grammar and was professional instead of calling me bro

Any particular reason for Army? Other than pilots, Air Force sees next to no combat.

Because it is the fear of long words.
I don't suffer from this phobia. Quite the opposite. I LOVE long words! I was so happy when I found this one!

I was married to a former AF radio operator. When they handed him his radio (in Vietnam, 1968, age 19), they told him his life expectancy was 5 months.

I wish I could say that my big hermie, Hampton, did not pass away this morning. I do not understand what happened, all I know is that he is gone, and I am so sad to see him go. He was not the most social of crabbies, but he loved hanging out with me and his little girlfriend. Had him for 2 years, and he was always very healthy. I was very excited, waiting for him to come up from his molting to meet his new family, but alas, it shall never be.
