You inability to not teach your kids that life isn't fair or get your kids deeply involved in something you didn't even know what to do, is your problem.
Trotting your kids out as a defense mechanism to 'negative' feedback is exploitative and immature. Grow up.
"Inability to not teach kids..." should work out to the kids learning it anyway. I think the "not" should be left out.
But then the second half of the sentence has trouble, because the person DID get their kids deeply involved in something, so that part does not need any negatives in front of it (no "inability" or "not.")
(Um, I think that is something I wanted to say, more than something you really need to do anything about. For some reason I'm stuck trying to make it make sense, but that may just mean I stayed up too late last night so I'm a bit groggy right now.)
