I try to be very considerate of others' feelings (not that it's ever reciprocated), but I'm a colossal disappointment with family because I won't cater to their every whim and desire. My husband has a similar temperament and is beloved by everyone.

Exacty! Unfortunately I never figured out how to do that and still communicate effectively. I don't mean to be blunt and tactless, but apparently I am. To my shame and often my horror. I just tell people I was raised by wolves.

Hmm, The Princess must not have read that section of the 'Woman Manual'. She is one of the most honest, thoughtful, forthright people I have ever known, but she was 'liberated' before that was a thing. And I love that.
