My brother made a homemade swamp cooler (wood frame on top of bin, with the swamp cooler blue stuff and a pump to put water on it) and it works well here since it's very dry.I tried a swamp cooler last year but it’s so humid here it’s just a waste.

I've never tried the frozen water bottle thing. I get their run wet and they love the mud in the shade. They have a box fan, but in the heat of the day it doesn't help them. In the evening it's really nice.Water bottles frozen and wrapped in a towel for them to roost on. Fans, shade….
We're having watermelon for dinner tonight, so they'll certainly get the rindswatermelon, cantaloupe, and frozen salad.
We freeze GatorAde bottles half full of water, then top them off with cold water and put them in the chickens' water buckets when it's hot out. Helps keep their water nice and cool. Otherwise it gets really warm and they won't drink enough and get dehydrated. And a dehydrated chicken won't eat.Probably not, and certainly not fast enough to help them today.
