Things you wish you could say

How the heck do I get a job when all the jobs require experience? How do I get experience if all the jobs require experience? *sigh*
When I got my shiny new degree in computer technology, it was a bad time to find a job in tech. I had a tech recruiter (and I STILL won't work with that company) tell me, "If you don't have two years of experience, don't waste my time."

I went to a standard temp agency and took any job they handed me. I spent two week counting pills from a clinical trial return. I mailed out disclosures for a mortgage company. Every company I worked for, I took my resume to their IT department. They had a chance to see my work ethic. The mortgage company's helpdesk manager looked at my resume and said, "You have all of these certifications. Do you want a job?"

A month later, the place that I counted pills for called me because they had a job on their helpdesk open. You can do it.

Thanks, so far there's a few certifications I want to take at the college. I also want to have a part time job for some income while I do it, which is tricky. I have a job right now but it sucks, I mean yeah I could stick with it but it's very draining. Seems like job searching is never ending though. Hopefully soon. I just graduated high-school (like, last Friday 😅) so I guess the rush isn't huge

There's a tiny bit of a pause between the 'd' and the 'ew' sounds, and the -aw ending is very shortened, more like a little 'uh' than a full 'aw', but more or less it would be pronounced like that, yes. 🙂
Oooh I love etymology! The small "d" followed by the apostrophe is used in French to mean "of" or "from". So the translation would be "of Uccles", or "from Uccles".
