Too many parents think that schools should teach their kids everything so they don't bother to teach them anything. I'm having a heck of a time educating my Godson who is 23. His parents think he's a genius, but he's lazy, reads at about 5th or 6th grade level and does basic math at maybe 7th grade level. He hates to think and believes that movies like The Matrix are documentaries (okay, I'm exaggerating just a little here). But that still should not be taught in a public school. They have loads of other stuff that is more important
My Godson doesn't even know his home address or home phone number. He's 23.I wish it was as important as other subjects. But most kids don't know their letters or their last name. Basics first then other subjects( and basics should be taught before school, I know)
I was taught those when I was...4?My Godson doesn't even know his home address or home phone number. He's 23.
He sounds autistic. Has he been tested for autism? My Godson doesn't even know his home address or home phone number. He's 23.
Reddit is bad. Site with lots of different stuff on it, usually not very family friendly language. I mostly use it when it's in the search results for tech stuff I research. You guys are making me feel like I'm missing something by having no idea what Reddit is or what's up with it but at the same time making me not even wanting to go there or have anything to do with it. In other words, you're really triggering the bipolar in me!So I'm just gonna do this
and stay away from it. Or them. Or whatever.
It's not 'bad' as it's the user base. Lots of people hiding behind screens.Reddit is bad. Site with lots of different stuff on it, usually not very family friendly language. I mostly use it when it's in the search results for tech stuff I research.
Ain't that the truth! If you think youth are entitled (many are, it's pretty bad) wait until you meet a lady of a certain age, who's spend the last 30 years bossing her kids around and now thinks any of her demands will be fulfilled without question by perfect strangers working behind the counter.
