My neighbor, Jamie, passed away this afternoon.

Thank you. Yes, this is she. They originally gave her 3-6 months. Not thanks to, but in spite of, the care she received, she lived 18 months. Several times in the hospital, some good days, some ok days, a lot of tired days, and the last 2-3 weeks, I think she was ready to go. She told me she was tired of living in her body.Sorry to hear this. This was the heart attack neighbor, correct? She has had a rough road lately. My sincere condolences to her family, friends, and neighbors who loved her
This exactly! This I will say. "Friends are the family we make for ourselves." Severing contact with a toxic family member was one of the best things I have ever done.
I don’t have Covid
Very sorry Sally!I wish I could say, "Hey Jamie! How's it going? Want to sit and chat for a bit?"

Very true! And he could also be depressed on top of all that.Asperger's is a part of the Autism Spectrum and a person with this disorder can certainly appear lazy, but generally (IME) they are not. They perceive and experience the world differently than the way the rest of us do. Without early intervention they may lack the skills and strategies to comprehend and cope with it effectively.
That's the thing. His parents have known about his asperger's since he was very young. He is capable of learning habits, but they would let him do nothing but sit around watching TV, YouTube and contribute nothing because it was too much effort to teach him.Asperger's is a part of the Autism Spectrum and a person with this disorder can certainly appear lazy, but generally (IME) they are not.
