UGH. Just because it's a VAIO doesn't mean that your Pentium Dual-Core unicorn turd is worth $100. I have one and it's not that great.

I'm in the same boat. I've put off knee surgery for waaaaay too long.

In theory, but we just lead from the ground since our horses aren't really used to ponying.

It's also safer for very inexperienced (and/or very young) riders to be led in-hand. The handler has more control and can respond to issues more quickly.
