Things you wish you could say

On the flat-top electric stoves that became popular some time ago, that flat surface is glass.

They don't seem to break too often (a sample size of two households over several years has not had one break, and I haven't heard it mentioned in casual conversation with other people.)

I know of no one who has had them break
My MIL's has cracked, twice. The first time, a roast slipped off the fork, fell into the pan, and the glass top cracked. The replacement lasted a year.
