Things you wish you could say

Just after 9am and a bit more after 3pm here, midwinter. This Sunday will be our last post-4pm sunset until January 19th.

I love it. I get something almost like agoraphobia for a while when the light starts coming back, and I start waking up already able to see the world outside and be seen by it. Though I love the light summer nights too.

I love how the sun will skim the horizon. And in the far north the sunsets are looooong and fabulous
in the winter ♥️

Sir, it's too early to be acting like a jerk. I understand you're in a hurry but I have to follow policy. Since you are related to someone in leadership in the company you should know that and be glad we're following the rules which are not just company rules but federal rules
Ooh, good one!

I wish I could say I'm sure that the township meeting I'm going to on Thursday will tell us what we actually want to know about what they're doing. I wish I was sure that there was no intent to ram through some "assessment;" that the people on the board will be forthcoming with information; that they will answer questions honestly and not try to pull the wool over everyone's eyes.

Heck, I wish I could even think these things.

I'm fairly certain all of the policitians over here in this area are corrupt. They keep playing games to try and get more money from everyone.

This is money for Fire and EMS. (How have they been funding it to date? Out of the millage.) Everyone is for funding for those, right? Of course. So it's going to be an assessment per parcel in the township. They HAVE NOT SAID HOW MUCH the assessment will be. Nor do they state how many parcels there are in the township. We have 3 parcels.

$50 each? Fine. $1000 each? Not fine.

I will be asking those two questions and not sitting down until they're answered.

Mill taxes are the easiest to get passed because only property owners pay them. Non property owners outnumber property owners and gladly vote for those taxes.
